OUR STORY
EABA was officially established in New York State on April 30, 2021. The full name of the organization is the Eastern America Badminton Association.

The original intention of the Eastern America Badminton Association was to organize amateur badminton enthusiasts to participate in the sport for recreation and fitness. Over the past one and a half years, the association's board members and volunteer workers have made significant and meticulous efforts in coordinating venues with clubs, managing players on the court, and arranging skilled players to teach beginner members. Participants in the association's activities include both teenagers and adults. On weekends, we host games and encourage members to bring their families for fun. Our young players often invite their friends to join. We play badminton, build friendships, and create a sense of family.

Badminton is a very popular sport in China, with more than 300 million participants. Almost one in four people plays badminton. It is a sport suitable for all ages, requiring the coordinated movement of hands, eyes, legs, waist, and other parts of the body. Playing badminton improves coordination, reaction time, and overall physical fitness. It is both a strength and mental exercise.

In the United States, badminton is not as popular as other sports. There are many reasons for this, one of which is that few Americans are involved in playing badminton. We conducted a survey on Long Island and found that many Chinese residents are very interested in playing badminton. However, the lack of indoor badminton courts in the community, the inconvenience of purchasing equipment, and the shortage of experienced coaches have hindered the development of large-scale badminton games.

We call on the Chinese community in Eastern America to join our badminton association and actively participate in our activities. By playing badminton with our children, we can spark their interest, foster good sportsmanship, and develop their competitiveness. We aim to provide our children with professional training opportunities, preparing them for success in the sport.

The Eastern America Badminton Association actively seeks guidance and support from the World Chinese Badminton Federation (WCBF). We are committed to fostering the growth of badminton and promoting competitive excellence in the United States. Let us begin by promoting and participating in badminton within our communities today.
